Can a Rear Hatch Still Open with a Trunk Mounted Bike Rack Installed
Question:
looking to purchase the TH 910XT. Will I be able to lift the hatch with the rack on the car once I take the bikes off? I will have a childs trailer in the back that I need to access. Thx.

Helpful Expert Reply:
With a trunk mounted rack installed you would not want to lift the rear hatch while the rack is installed. Not only does the added weight of the rack make the hatch more likely to fall on someone, but the metal hooks could also end up pressing against either the hatch or the rear door frame of the vehicle and damaging it.
