Air Ride Pin Box Recommendation Between Trailair and 5th Airborne

You really can't go wrong with either air ride pin box. Both the Ultra-Fab Trailair # UF35-946208 and the 5th Airborne # ST400-5AS16K are quality products from respected companies. Trailair has a long-standing positive reputation in the towing industry, but 5th Airborne makes solid, high quality products too.

My co-worker prefers the Trailair pin box because of the location of the shock on the pin box. He feels that because of the direction it faces it yields better results. However if you want turning clearance, the 5th Airborne has cushioning as well as the rotating turret which offsets the pivot point of your trailer by 22 inches with is significant. With a short bed truck, that is a game changer but it is still a nice option even with an 8 foot bed.
