Does the Titling Feature of Hollywood Platform Bike Rack Allow for Theft

Question:

It appears the tilting function is facilitated via bolt on pivot point with a pin and upon removal of the pin the shaft pivots along the remaining bolt. So if someone wanted to quick remove the bikes could they just unbolt the pivot bolt and remove the entire arm with both bikes?

Expert Reply:

If someone wanted to disassemble the Hollywood Rack Bike Rack part # HR1450Z and they happened to have the right tools it would be possible to do what you described. HOWEVER, if you had the Anti-Rattle Hitch Lock and Cable Lock # HRLHPTC installed on the rack they wouldn't be able to steal the bikes since they would be locked to the hitch.

For the record, we have yet to hear of anyone stealing bikes in the manner that you described.
