Platform Bike Rack Recommendation without Rise in Shank for Front Mount Hitch

Question:

Hi, I drive an 04 Toyota Tundra 4x4 as my towing vehicle to haul a tent trailer. Interested in carrying 2 bikes on the front of truck, via 2inch Curt receiver hitch already mounted. I tried my existing Yakima hitch-mount bike rack, which put the bikes WAY too high over the hood. Wondering if there is a bike rack thats shorter designed for this purpose, or whether platform-mount carriers such as the Swagman Platform-Style 2 Bike Rack for 2inch Hitches or RV Bumpers would suit this purpose I saw one such use in the reviews for this rack. Otherwise, Im considering mountain Yak bars on top of tent trailer. Thanks much!

Your best option for the front mount hitch on your 2004 Toyota Tundra would be a platform hitch that does not have a rise built into the shank like the part # S64663. This rack would basically put your bikes level with the hitch opening and would be the lowest profile setup that should work well for you.
