1996 Palomino Trailer Wiring Troubleshooting

Question:

This is a two part question! 1. None of the lights on my pop up camper are working. On my old pop up camper everything worked great, so its not a issue with my pickup. The old owners claimed the lights worked great..but they definitely arent working for me! Any suggestions? 2. My camper did not come with a battery installed in it. We live in Montana and we use our pop up in early spring and late fall in the mountains..and its cold. We want to use the heater and the blower..but obviously you need a battery for the blower. Im thinking there is a easy way to wire it in..but Im just unsure of what to do exactly. I can provide pictures of anything you would need to help me out. Thanks!!

Make sure that the trailer side connector are clean and free of corrosion inside and out. The main connector grounds should be attached to clean and corrosion free bare metal surfaces. The light grounds should also be attached to clean and corrosion free bare metal surfaces. If there is anything between a light ground and the metal trailer frame or if the trailer has an aluminum frame, tilt bed, or folding tongue, any of these things can interrupt the ground. Running jumper wires from the light grounds to the main trailer connector ground can help.

I attached a link to a page that has wiring diagrams for trailers for you to check out as well.

You would want to install a 12 volt battery on your trailer. There's no real secret to installing it. Basically you would just need to find a quality battery, choose where you want to install it, and then run all of the power accessories you have to it.
