Do Weight Distribution Systems Reduce Trailer Sway

Yes they will. Weight distribution without a secondary sway control feature will also work to fight sway as it distributes a portion of the trailer tongue weight up to the front axle. When a vehicle is towing a trailer and the front axle ends up too light sway can occur and a WD system can prevent this.
A WD system adds friction to vehicle/trailer when it attempts to turn so in that regard acts as a friction sway control unit as well.
The absolute best way to prevent sway is proper trailer loading. If you can load your trailer so that the tongue weight is between 10 and 15 percent of the total trailer weight you will reduce sway as much as possible.
