Lug Nut Torque for Aluminum HWT Mod 15 Inch Trailer Wheel # AM22646

Question:

Hi, there Last fall I bought four Aluminum HWT Mod Trailer Wheel - 15inch x 6inch Rim - 6 on 5-1/2inch and am finally getting ready to get some new tires and mount them on the Airstream! But I do have one question: Once Ive got the wheels mounted in the rims, what torque do I use to mount them on the trailer? Thanks,

Expert Reply:

I have attached a chart that gives the torque specs for trailer lugs based on stud size, wheel size, and wheel material.

For your Aluminum HWT Mod 15 Inch Trailer Wheel, # AM22646, and 1/2 inch stud size, the proper torque is 90 to 100 ft lbs.

Please keep in mind that lug nuts should be re-torqued after 10 miles, 25 miles, 50 miles and then monthly after that.
