2008 Chevy Silverado Transmission Cooler Recommendation

Question:

i just ordered the 8000 plate cooler my truck has a factory cooler on it now but when towing my 7000 Lbs trailer the trans temp gets around 200 i have seen it go over a little. my question is do i replace the Factory cooler or add the new filter in line with it?

The best way to use a supplemental transmission cooler like the # D13503 that you referenced is to use it with the factory cooler. You will want to route the fluid first to your factory cooler, then to the supplemental cooler, and then finally back to the transmission. I attached a picture that shows this routing method.

To make installing the cooler on your vehicle easier you will also want the fitting part # D13035. This will attach to your factory cooler and make installing the aftermarket cooler much easier.
