What are the Blue and Yellow Wire Functions on a 1976 Travelmate Camper

Question:

I have a 1976 travelmate camper. There is a blue wire and a yellow wire that I dont know what they are for. My 12 volt lights in the camper are not working. How do I check on of these wires to see if they are 12 volt ?

Expert Reply:

The most likely function of the blue wire is output to electric brakes (on a trailer) or possibly a third brake light (on an in-bed camper) and for yellow it is likely 12 volt power. What you can do is use a separate battery and touch each wire to the positive terminal and see what turns on. Then you can label the wires accordingly.

The other option is to trace each wire to see where they go.
