Remote Mount Transmission Cooler Recommendation for a 2005 Chevy Silverado  

Question:

Shopping remote transmission coolers for 2005 Silverado 5.3. Truck already has factory tow pkge cooler but I want additional cooling. Trailer is less than 3000 lbs, so Im simply adding protection for hills and traffic jams in hot weather, etc. I know I need the GM adapter for the radiator connection but dont know which cooler and line size to consider ? Would a D12740 be sufficient in addition to the factory cooler ?

For a remote mount transmission cooler that comes with all the lines and fittings you would want the # D15960. Then for the correct transmission fitting you would want the part # D13035.

The # D12740 is a great cooler, but it would also require the # D13064 to install. And the # D15960 is a more efficient style cooler so it would actually cool better. It is a stacked plate cooler that is the most efficient style available.
