2015 Ram 2500 Brake Controller and Install Harness Recommendation

Question:

What parts do I require to put a trailer brake controller in a 2015 Ram 2500. It has the 7 pin trailer connection already installed but did not come with the brake controller. I looked under the steering column and it has a 10 pin harness and a 4 pin harness pre-wired. Will I be required to flash the computer? Please advise

All you would need to install a brake controller in your 2015 Ram 2500 would be a brake controller and the correct install harness.

For a brake controller I would recommend the Prodigy P2 Brake Controller part # 90885. This is our best selling brake controller because of how well it works and how easy it is to setup. This is a proportional brake controller that senses the amount of braking the tow vehicle is applying and applies a proportionate amount to the trailer brakes.

The correct install harness that you would need would then b the part # 3024-P. The 4-pin harness you found under the steering column would the correct one to use for this harness and there would be no computer reflashing would be required.
