Lippert Ground Control Leveling System Shows ERROR, LF Jack

Question:

Have a new fifth wheel, came equipped with the leveling system. Arrived at the campground, Turned the system on to raise the front jacks to disconnect from tow vehicle. During this process, received a ERROR, LF JACK message. I was able to disconnect and lower the camper to level. When it was time to leave, I was able to raise the camper to reconnect. I believe I failed to put the system in MANUEL MODE before I started lowering the front jacks to disconnect, not sure if that would cause the ERROR. Everything else I did to disconnect and reconnect was done with the ERROR message on. This is on a 2016 Montana, 34 foot. Two questions, How do I clear the error message? How do I prevent future error messages? Thanks.....

On the Lippert Ground Control 3.0 # LC358590 the error you are receiving indicates either a problem at the left front jack, a hall signal issue (open ground/short, or other malfunction) or an unexpected high amperage current stall (meaning the battery stopped providing power for some reason).

To clear the error you can either fix what is causing the error such as a loose or damaged wiring harness, or follow this method:

Extend all jacks at least 6 inches. Then press and hold the retract button until the jacks begin retracting. All of the jacks should fully retract and clear the error.

If you have a 6-point system the middle jacks only operate in error mode. To engage the middle jacks you would need to press the left and right buttons simultaneously.

Check the manual for the system because some things have to be done in a certain order for the system to operate correctly. That should prevent future errors (unless there is an actual electrical or mechanical problem).

Trying to autolevel mg 3.0 system. After unhooking from truck, I went to autolevel and all six jacks faulted! My 5th wheel will not autolevel at all until I retract all jacks to clear faults.

Are you able to follow the above instructions on clearing the error (raising all 6 jacks, etc)? If not, try resetting the system by simply disconnecting it from power for a bit and hooking it back up. This may work to clear the error as well.

When auto leveling, the front jacks keep going up and I needed to pause the system to ensure nothing would break. What’s wrong?

It sounds like the "Zero Point" may just need to be re-calibrated. I linked an answer page below that goes over this process. Just let me know if it doesn't resolve this issue.

When I was hooking my 5th wheel up to my camper, one of my six point leveling feet and leg it is attached to just fell to to the ground from it housing. You could push the leg up without and resistance. Had to wire it up to move the camper. Can this problem be fixed.without replacing it.

It certainly seems like something is damaged internally on that leg. It's not something that can easily be repaired, nor are these internal components available as replacement parts. Your best bet is honestly to replace the whole leg. If you can tell me which one it was I can recommend the correct assembly.

JimI have a 2019 Cougar 367FLS with the LF jack error. I have checked the fuse, checked the wiring harness and get a signal that is simply the test light going on and right back off, I cannot raise or lower the jack electronically. is there some way I can reset this condition. the camper has been used only twice and worked flawless.

The error is cleared by extending all the jacks by at least 6 inches and then holding down the retract button - but since you're not able to do this I think the best thing to do will be to totally disconnect the system from power. After letting it sit for a bit, reconnect the battery power wire and this should essentially reset the unit, hopefully allowing you to operate the jacks again. Please let me know if the issue persists.

Is there something going wrong with the jack?After letting it sit overnight we were able to extend the jack. Makes a grinding noise. Will extend a couple inches and then just stops, other leg is extending and its not making any noise, just stops functioning.

There could be an internal issue with that jack leg, but the issue might also be coming from a weak battery. If it's not getting enough power it will struggle to extend, and could make this type of noise. Make sure the battery is still completely charged and in good condition - it might be worth charging it up just to be sure. Let me know what you find and we'll go from there.

My husband and I are unable to extend the left front jack on the lippert self leveling system. It did retract, we should have lubricated but didnt. Now unable to extend. Is there a manual method? Cannot use control panel. Is there some way of lubricating with Jacks retracted?

There is a manual access port located on the top of the jack motor that can be used to extend the jack. You'll need a 3/8" drive ratchet and extension to operate it. Unfortunately you'll need to extend that jack before you can perform any maintenance like lubrication.
