Will Reese Elite Series Fifth Wheel Slider Work With 2003 Chevrolet Silverado With Quadrasteer

Question:

Looking for your recommended hitch that will work on the following truck. 2003 Chevy Silverado 1500hd quadsteer 6.0l with 6.5 bed, 4.10 rear axel. It does have outside flares on the bed however inside the bed appears normal. Wondering if the quadsteer would effect the mounting under the bed. And if the is a size or weight capacity Limitation. Any help would be appreciated.

If you have a normal, cab-width bed on your 2003 Silverado, you should be able to install a fifth wheel hitch with no problem. If your bed is a Stepside or Flareside and the bed is narrower than a standard bed, you can run into problems trying to use a fifth wheel hitch.

I called my contact at Reese and they told me there is not a problem with the Quadrasteer on your truck and a fifth wheel like part # RP30144. This fifth wheel hitch has a gross towing weight capacity of 18,000 lbs, and features slider travel of 10 inches front to back.

The installation kit with bed rails for your Silverado is part # RP30061. This kit gives you complete access to your truck bed when the hitch is removed.
