Comparing Ground Clearance of Trunnion and Round Bar Weight Distribution Systems
Question:
Im pulling a 3-horse Titan bumper pull trailer with a 2014 F150 Supercab. What would give me the most ground clearance, trunnion bars, or round bars?

Helpful Expert Reply:
Trunnion Bar systems will have greater ground clearance under the coupler than round bar systems. However, the lowest point of the system would be the point where the chains connect to the ends of the spring bars. This would be about the same height on both types of systems.
If you'd like to reply with the fully loaded and ready to tow tongue weight of your trailer, I'd be happy to recommend a system for you.
