Pin Style Coupler Lock Recommendation that Requires at 9/16 inch Span
Question:
I have the same style coupler on each of three trailers. Two are for 2inch ball, and one is for 1 7/8. They are all similar to your Husky HT87075 coupler. When I measure the latch span at the holes for the pin from outer edges I come up with 9/16. Do most people choose the locking pin with 1/2inch span, or with the 7/8inch span for these type of couplers? Seems it might be best for a tight fit to avoid rattling and access to cut the pin. Which lock is designed to best fit these type of couplers? Thank you,

A snug fit is preferred when picking out a pin style coupler lock for a trailer coupler.
If you have 9/16 of an inch from the outer edges of the latch on your coupler I wouldn't recommend going with a 1/2 inch span lock as it would be too short and wouldn't latch.
Instead I would go with the Master Lock Coupler Lock part # 2847DAT as it can be adjusted down to a 5/8 inch span and would work well for you.
I attached an install video for this lock for you to check out as well.
