5th Wheel Trailer Hitch Install Kit, Brackets Only, and 20K Reese Hitch for 2015 Ram 2500 Long Bed

Question:

I have a 2015 Ram 2500 diesel crew cab 4x4 8foot bed without factory mounted hitch option. I have an older 15k Reese 5th wheel hitch. I want to use the rails I have, and need the part number for the instalation kit. Also, do you know if I upgrade to a new Curt 20k hitch in the future, will these rails still work? For some reason, my wife thinks because the hitch is old, it is no longer safe??? Were towing a 2015 Cougar 32foot weighing 11,500.

Your hitch has seen better days but maybe it just needs a little cleaning and maintenance to bring it back into good form. Of course going with a new hitch is always an option. And the 20K Curt hitches will fit the rails that you have so no worries there.

The bracket kit you will need for your 2015 Ram 2500 long bed is # RP50054. But you will also need hardware kit # RP58430 because the old hardware cannot be reused.

If you want to upgrade to the 20K Curt hitch you can use # C16140. It will fit the rails you have. I have included a link to a video review for you.
