Installing Reese/Bulldog Electric 5th Wheel Landing Gear Set # RP500708 in Place of Venture VCM900R
Question:
My 2005 Montana 5ht wheel was factory equipped with the VCM900 series and they now are completely worn out. Can I replace them with the RP500708? I measured every thing I can and it appears they would fit just fine but I would like your opinion. Also, can I use two of the switches that came with my old motor to operate the RP500708? Thanks for your help

Yes, we offer replacement 5th wheel landing gear sets that will work in place of your worn-out Venture VCM900. You will just need to match or exceed the original landing gear set's weight rating. Reese # RP500708 is rated for 8,000-lbs. Using a higher-rated set is never a bad idea as it will mean the new landing gear will not have to work quite as hard.
You can probably re-use your existing Venture switches for the Bulldog Electric 5th Wheel Landing Gear Set # RP500708 but since this kit includes a new control panel with switches I recommend you use the new included part. This will ensure the whole system has all-new components and may reduce the chance of one or both of the used switches going bad on you.
