Can 12 Volt Wire from 7-Way Trailer Connector be Used as an Input on CTEK D250 Battery Charger

Question:

I purchased a CTEK dual charger. My question is, can the AUX 12v+ charging cable on my 7 pin plug from the vehicle be used on the alternator input side of the CTEK.

You could use the 12 volt circuit from your 7-Way trailer connector to one of the inputs on the CTEK battery charger # 331-BCDC1240D. The inputs accept 12 to 20 volts DC power.

But even if the voltage is in that range there might not be enough amperage on that 12 volt circuit for the charger to be effective (depending on what you are charging). The longer the distance the power has to travel and the smaller the wire gauge the lower the amperage will be that makes it to the charger.
