Fifth Wheel Hitch/Install Kit Recommend 2015 GMC Sierra Towing Heartland Trailer w 88 Degree Nose

Question:

I recently saw a post that you did an excellent job of answering the question. It was in regards to a standard, 6.5foot box, pulling a fifth wheel. At the end of your answer, you mentioned to send in specifics of a truck and fifth wheel and you would give the best match. Here are my specifics and what we would like to do. Will it work, or what do I need to do? 2015 GMC Sierra 2500 HD, Crew Cab, Standard Box 6.5. Duramax engine We are looking at the following fifth wheel RVs. 2014 Sundance XLT 299BH by Heartland 2015 Elkridge E295 by Heartland Will either of these fifth wheels work with my truck without a sliding hitch? If not, do I understand correctly that most manufacturers are coming out with fifth wheels that will? Thank you,

The two trailers you referenced have Heartland's new nose design on the trailer that allows it to make an 88 degree turn without the use a slider hitch when towed by a short bed vehicle.

It's a pretty cool design that as long you get either of those trailers you would not have to get a slider hitch your 2015 GMC Sierra 2500HD.

For a fifth wheel rail kit you would want a custom install kit like the part # RP50066-58 which has been confirmed as a fit for your vehicle. This will minimize drilling and cut install time in half when compared to other install kits. I attached an install video for you to check out as well.

For a hitch the Reese 20k Select Plus # RP30081 would be a great choice. This hitch has one of the nicest jaw designs around so I would recommend it for you.
