What is the Best Quality Roof Mount Cargo Bag for a 2010 Honda CR-V

Question:

I would like to know what is the most water resistant cargo bag with the best quality for a 2010 Honda CR-V with A1101 cross bar roof rack. I am concern with how well the bag will hold up and also how it will tie down with only 24-26inch between bars.

For the highest quality and best water resistance rating I recommend either the 16 cubic foot Thule Interstate, # TH869, or the 13 cubic foot Thule Outbound, # TH868. These bags are rated IP-X2 which means products are protected against falling water when tilted up to 15 degrees.

The bags are made of a thermoplastic elastomer known as TPE which is a very strong and durable material.

As far as fitting the roof rack on your 2010 Honda CR-V the bags can rest partially on the bars so as long as it is properly secured to the roof rack it would not be a problem.

Otherwise the next step up would be a cargo box. The box closest in price to a bag and that fits your CR-V roof rack is the Thule Sidekick # TH78GC. The benefit is that the box locks and the hard shell can take more of an impact. The box is also more aerodynamic.
