Cargo Box Fit on Factory Roof Bars on 2013 Toyota RAV4
Question:
Will this cargo box fit in my 2013 RAV 4. The rear door opens upward. I want to haul skis and boots. The skis are no longer than 175 cms. Can the rack the car came with accommodate the box?

You will want to check your RAV4's owner's manual for any guidance regarding rooftop cargo weight. The car's maximum allowable roof weight must be enough for the combined weight of your skis and other gear and also the cargo box's weight. For example, if your manual says the RAV4 can handle 100-lbs on its roof, then after you subtract, for example, the 35-lb box weight of the Force Medium # TH6356B you still have left a cargo weight capacity of 65-lbs.
Sometimes folks that use a rooftop cargo solution also choose a tire step for better access during loading and unloading. We offer a couple of such items but my favorite is the # HE4040 folding step. I recommend this tire step because of its lower price and because it comes fully assembled. It simply slips over a rear tire when you need a bit of height advantage and it folds up for easy storage inside the RAV4.
Another good step option is the lightweight aluminum Telesteps Folding Step # TE97FR which comes fully assembled and unfolds to give you almost a foot of extra reach for loading and unloading. This step does not need to be affixed to a tire so it can be used anywhere you need some extra reach.
