Prodigy P3 Brake Controller Not Working on a 2007 Ford F-250 with Factory Integrated Controller
Question:
I just replaced the OEM brake controller on 2007 F250 last night. I had the problem of when the trailer was hooked up, electric brakes wont stop trailer, even at max level. I purchased the P3 along with the adapter 3065-P for my truck. Removed the connector from back of OEM controller and plugged into the adapter. Left the second plug hooked up to the OEM controller because there was nothing to do with it. Plugged adapter into P3, mounted unit and set up per instructions. Now I get an error TBC on message center on dash when I start up the truck. I have brake lights on both truck and trailer but the electric brakes wont engage, not even with the manual switch on P3. This is the same with both the bumper mounted plug and the bed plug. Reading some of your troubleshooting solutions, I will check the stop light switch on the brake pedal tonight and see if that fixes it. All the fuses have been checked and are good. Truck brakes work fine. Point me in the right direction. thanks.

You will need to have the TBC turned off by a Ford technician at a Ford dealer. Using the IDS, the Ford Technician should access the Programmable Parameters and then select the Personality/Dynamics. Select the TBC and turn it off. The fault code will now be removed and you can then install an after market controller.
Also, make sure you are plugging the # 3065-P harness into the correct location. There are a couple of connectors that look the same.
