Disc Brake Kit Recommendation for a Dexter 7,000 D-70 Trailer Axle

Question:

Hello I have a 16K fifth wheel with Dexter D-70 axles. The wheel bolts are 9/16 and the pattern is 8X6.5. 16inch wheels Please confirm the correct Kodiac Disc Brake kit for me. Raw Finish Plus all of the suggested parts to go with it. I pull with a 2011 Ford F 450 with built in IBC. I believe the Carlise controller is the most compatible with the Ford IBC. Please let me know

I did some checking and your Dexter D-70 axles have the number 42 spindle on them which is what the Kodiak Disc Brake Kit # K2HR79 that you referenced is designed to fit so it would work well for you.

You will need to supply new bearings though. For that you would want the part # 25580 for the inner bearing and part # 02475 for the outer bearing. You should note that this outer bearing will be different from the one you pull out of your current hubs. Everything else will match right up from the wheel studs to the bolt pattern of the hubs.

You will also need the seals part # RG06-070.

The Cargo Towing Solutions HydraStar Electric-Hydraulic Actuator for Disc Brakes # HBA16 that you also referenced will work great with this disc brake kit and will also work well with the integrated brake controller of your 2011 Ford F-450.
