Trailer Hitch for Swagman XTC Bike Carrier on a 2010 Honda Fit Sport
Question:
Im seriously looking at the Swagman XTC2 for my Honda 2010 Fit sportA couple of questions:1. Will I need an attachment for a girls bike to clamp down with. I will be carrying either one male/ one female or two female bikes2. What would be the best hitch? Would the hidden one work?3. Is it easy to remove the rack from the hitch as I would like not to have the rack on the bike during the weekThank you!

It is possible that you would need an adapter bar such as # 64005 to secure an alternative frame bike to the Swagman XTC bike carrier # S64670. If it is a traditional girls bike with a slanted top frame tube then it would not be a problem and you would not need an adapter. But if it is a deep step through style frame then you likely would need an adapter.
The best option for a trailer hitch for your 2010 Honda Fit Sport to carry bikes is going to be Hidden hitch # 306-X7286. The Hidden Hitch model has a 300-pound tongue weight capacity and does not require a stabilizer strap like the Curt model # C11064.
A bike carrier is going to just slide in and out of the hitch receiver. Platform style carriers such as the XTC are a little heavier than hanging bike racks but nothing that one person couldn't handle. the XTC only weighs about 30 pounds. I have linked videos on the XTC and on the hitch installation for you.
