Will the Roadmaster Base Plate Kit # 3121-1 Fit the Falcon All Terrain Tow Bar on a 2004 Saturn Vue
Question:
I have a Falcon All Terrain 522 tow bar. I wish to tow my 04 Vue. Your specs call for a 3121-1 base plate kit. After looking at the installation instructions for the base plate, it appears that the distance between the two plates when installed would exceed the length of the 522 cross bar. Is there any way to use an MS type base plate? Or another solution? Thanks.

Both base plate kits for the 2004 Saturn Vue are the XL style. The RoadMaster Falcon All Terrain Tow Bar, # RM-522, works with all Roadmaster vehicle-specific base plates - EZ, MX, XL, and Standard.
This would include the Roadmaster XL Base Plate Kit, # 3121-1, for the 6 cylinder 2004 Saturn Vue without a brushguard, non-Redline models. To be certain, I spoke with my contact at RoadMaster and she verified that the tow bar and base plate kit will work, no problem.
The reason it will fit is that the brackets that attach to the tow bar are angled in towards the center of the vehicle, even though the mounting points are wider on the frame. This allows the brackets to be close enough together to fit the width of the tow bar.
