Brake Controller Installation Recommendation for a 2010 Mercury Mountaineer
Question:
2010 mountaineer class 3 hitch installed by Curt. Put a 7 pin wire plug in. Purchased the factory wire harness plug from the brake Prodigy. Do I need to run the wire from the brake controller to the 7 pin Wire plug. Or did Mercury install or run a wire already? Let me know

Expert Reply:
On your 2010 Mercury Mountaineer there should be a wiring harness that is attached to the 4-way wiring near the rear of your vehicle that has the brake controller wiring. This is the wiring that you would connect the Adapter 4 Pole to 7 Pole # 37185 to.
If you have a factory 7-way all you would need is the # 3035-P installed and the brake controller and 7-way would be ready to go.
You would plug your 4-way into the # 37185 and then wire the brake controller output circuit to the blue wire, the auxiliary 12 volt power to the black wire, ground the white wire, and then run the purple to a reverse lockout circuit if needed.
