Troubleshooting Play Between Curt Hitch Legs and Curt Bed Rails
Question:
Why is there slop between the curt q20 hitch legs and the curt bed rails. All parts new, just installed by dealer and pulled 5er once. Can feel the hitch assembly rock in the rails when towing. Is this normal or is there a way to tighten this up? When trailer not hooked up, can grab release handle and easily move hitch assembly up and down. Any info would be greatly appreciated, thanks in advance.

This is normal behavior for a 5th wheel trailer hitch. Considering the amount of weight involved and all of the steel components there is going to be some play. In fact, where the hitch fits in the rails has to have some play. If it was tight you would not be able to easily get the hitch in and out of the rails.
You can try using dampeners like part # 16900, to fit between the hitch and rails. They are made to stop rattle and might be all you need.
