Should a 5th Wheel Toy Hauler Be Protected with a Cover All Year Long

Question:

New to campers. I know a cover should be used when unit is in storage over the winter but what about during the other months. We expect to only be able to use the 5th wheel toy hauler for 2 weeks this year, retirement will be here for next yeas use. So should I keep it covered/protected the rest of the time? TH has a rubber roof, sealing all looks good. Thank You.

Trailers will benefit from a cover to protect them from the elements pretty much all year long.

Although we usually think of ice and snow as the worst threats to the integrity of a trailer's roof, windows and doors, the summer sun's ultraviolet rays can also deteriorate the appearance and sometimes the stability of materials used in trailers and even more so its tires. It is never a bad idea to protect such a substantial investment. It is a lot easier and less costly to replace an RV or tire cover that has been destroyed by the sun than it is to replace the trailer's components and tires.

The link provided will let you see all 5th wheel covers which you can sort by size using the filters on the page. The Camco UltraShield 5th Wheel Cover # CAM45755 that you referenced will fit 5th wheels of 32-feet in length.

We also offer separate covers for tires like # CA80084 and these can be seen on the other included links.

If your circumstances allow, it is not a bad idea to periodically remove the covers to let air circulate and to allow any accumulated moisture to evaporate.
