Where to Attach the Extra Brake Controller Wire Harness Ground Wire on a 2006 Toyota Tundra TRD 4X4
Question:
I bought this pigtail from you for my 2006 Tundra 4x4 TRD. It has an extra ground wire to connect somewhere? Where does it connect?

Expert Reply:
You will need to connect the extra ground wire to a good clean, paint, rust and corrosion free part of the vehicle chassis. If you can find an existing ground stud under the vehicle dash this would be a good choice. If not use a self-tapping screw of the appropriate size to attach the ground wire to a solid point under the dash, making sure not to drill into any existing wiring, moving parts or an exterior panel of the vehicle.
A good way to check the ground location is to use a circuit tester, item # PTW2993 if needed, and attach the alligator clip to the ground location and touch a known 12-volt source with the probe. If the light lights brightly then the ground is sufficient.
