How to Remove a B&W Companion 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch from a Truck Bed
Question:
I want to remove my hitch from my truck, do I have to loosen the u-bolts to remove or can I loosen the one tension boltrelease the turn over pin and remove? Then when I reinstall I place hitch in turnover position tighten and torque tension bolt only after I set turnover pin. In short due you loose ubolts every time you put it in and out or just first time when you install? I think you tension and torque the top bolt each time.

To uninstall the Companion hitch head, your will first remove the Saddle lock pins. Then grab the saddle handles and lift to remove the head from the pivot arms. Removing the head will make taking out the base easier since it won't be as heavy.
To remove the actual Companion base, loosen the draw down bolt and retract the Turnoverball gooseneck latch pin handle all the way out. Carefully lift and position the Companion base out of the Gooseneck hitch socket. I have linked the instructions and a video review for you.

I have a B&W Companion hitch which is seven years old and can't get the handle in the wheel well to release so I can pull the hitch out of the bed. PB Blaster and WD40 didn't help. The handle comes part way out and then acts like it is hanging up on something. Suggestions to get it out please.
