A-Frame Jack Solution for Trailer with Small Diameter Lower Jack Hole
Question:
Hello, I hope you can help. I am looking for an A-frame jack that would fit my 1996 Fleetwood Prowler trailer. I am running into a problem finding a jack that has a small enough housing diameter to fit into the bottom hole There are two holes on top of each other in the tongue. It appears to be all original equipment. The top hole is no probem it measures well over 2 inch in diameter. I measured the bottom hole it needs to go into and the old jacks pipe diameter with a caliper. The original jack outside diameter of the pipe is: 1-55/64. The hole dimension that I am trying to put the jack in is: 1-59/64 I purchased a 2inch diameter jack and it will not fit in the hole. Do you sell a jack this size in diameter? If you dont could you please direct me to a place that does? Or could you tell me what tool I could use to widen this hole a tiny bit past 2? If this helps, the metal I am trying to widen the hole in is 1/8 inch thick. Thank you. I look forward to hearing back from you soon!

Your best option is going to be to take your trailer to a welder/fabricator and explain to them that you need to have either that lower plate removed or expanded so that you can fit a new trailer jack in it's place. The standard jack outer tube diameter is right at 2-1/4 inches. We don't carry a jack that would fit the lower hole of your trailer so modifying your trailer will be your only option.
Once you get that taken care of an A-frame jack like the part # PSRV20000103 would work great for you. I attached a review video for you to check out as well.
