Question:

Does the mirror clamp on to the side bar or roof support bar without having to drill screw holes into the bar itself ?

The CIPA Golf Cart Mirrors part # CM01140 that you referenced do not require any drilling for installation. They simply clamp around 3/4 inch or 1 inch diameter bars to install.

Can this be installed on the edge molding of my rowboat? The base looks like it could fit on, but could it be bolted on? Is the mirror removable without also releasing the holder? I want to be able to clamp on to go rowing and then remove when I'm finished. Might this work horizontally rather than vertically (as shown)?

The CIPA Adjustable Side Mirror for Golf Carts # CM01140 is a clamp-on installation designed for the mirror to stay vertical. It installs by attaching to the brackets so you would probably have to remove the brackets if you wanted to remove the mirror. You are more than welcome to modify this as you see fit but it was designed for a golf cart. Here is a link to our selection of boat mirrors that you can filter through. One of these might fit your application a little better.
