Trailer Riding High At the Trailer Hitch on a 2007 Mazda CX-9 With Weight Distribution Installed

Question:

Have 600lb weight distribution. Single axle 18ft Hybrid Travel trailer is riding high at hitch. Weighed TV at scales. 80lbs under max on front axle, 500lbs under on rear axle with RV delaer setup. TV rides level. Would like some more weight on rear axle. Only one link left on chains and that results in a twist. Is soluton to lower ball mount or transfer some weight from trailer Cooler, barbecue etc to back of TV. This seemed to reduce rearward tilt some. I have combined 75lbs worth of kids in 2nd row of SUV, so weight distribution setup by dealer was expecting more rear bais weight on TV??? Any thoughts? Thanks

You may need to adjust the ball angle on the weight distribution system to level the spring bars with the trailer frame when the unit is hooked up. I have included a link to the instructions for the Reese Heavy Duty Round Bar Weight Distribution System, # RP65509. The instructions you need start on the top of page 2.

If the trailer still is not level after making the above adjustments, you may need to lower the ball mount for a level ride, especially since you stated that your tow vehicle is level. I have included a couple of links below on towing a trailer and weight distribution that might help.
