Can Dual Cam Sway Control # RP26002 be Used with Pro Series Weight Distribution Hitch # 49570

Question:

can i use the Dual cam RP26002 sway control with this hitch. I have the hitch installed and still get some sway.

The Reese Dual Cam High-Performance Sway Control System # RP26002 can be used only with trunnion bar type weight distribution systems, such as their Strait-Line # RP66084. It will not work with your round bar system # 49570 because the round bars enter the head from underneath rather than from the side as trunnion bars do and the bars on your system lack the angled bends at their ends which are what grab the dual cams to steady the trailer.

You may want to try adding a second friction style sway control unit to the other side of your trailer frame to further reduce sway. You can use Reese # 83660 for one or two sway control bars. A second unit will simply be installed upside down on the other side of the trailer.
