Trunk Mount Bike Carrier for a 2011 Ford Edge with Rear Spoiler

Question:

How does the bike rack attach to the top of the hatch? I dont see any place where the cable hooks could attach.

Thule says that the top clips on the Raceway carrier # TH45JV are to be placed in the gap at the front edge of the top of the trunk, hatch or door. But with that spoiler on your 2011 Ford Edge it isn't likely going to work.

What you need is the Hollywood Racks Over-the-Top carrier # HRF2. It is designed with an extra arm piece for the top arms that moves the straps up so the clips that attach at the top of the hatch are not at an awkward angle like they would be on other carriers. This design also keeps the straps off of the spoiler so no weight is put on it. I have linked a video showing how it works.
