Power Level on Prodigy P2 Brake Controller # 90885 Reads Only Up to 4.2 Volts
Question:
When I step on the brakes the digital output only goes up to 4.2 if I really get after the pedal. What should the reading go up to? Is the brake control starting to go out? Trailer has brand new brake assemblies, the drums turned and properly set up. Thanks for your time.

The display on the Prodigy P2 brake controller # 90885 will display a numerical readout from 0.0 to 13 volts depending on the setting of the power level knob. That control is identified in the linked photo as item A. Try adjusting the power level to increase the output voltage.
If this fails to increase the displayed power setting then the unit may be damaged and require replacement.
You can test the output on the blue wire by severing it a few inches from the unit (leaving enough wire to re-connect it). Apply a voltmeter to the blue output wire while you press the manual override. You should detect close to 12V (full power). If not, then the unit may be bad.
