Will the Swagman Trailhead 2 Bike Rack Clear the Spare Tire on a 1997 Honda CR-V

Will this product/rack clear my spare tire on my 1997 Honda CRV? Thanks

In order to determine if the Swagman Trailhead 3 Bike Carrier, # S63365, will clear the spare tire on your 1997 Honda CR-V, you will need to take an important measurement. Measure from the center of the hitch pin hole to the furthest out part of the spare tire. If this measurement is less than 13 inches, the rack will work.

However, I spoke with my contact at Swagman and they stated that they are switching makers of components for the rack and the specifications might change.

If you have a Class I hitch, it is recommended that you carry no more than 2 bikes, even if the rack can carry more. If you just want to carry two bikes with your CR-V, I recommend the Swagman Trailhead 2 Bike Carrier, # S63360. If has 9-1/4 inches of clearance from the center of the hitch pin hole to the back of the upright bar. It will also fold down to allow more access to the rear hatch of your vehicle.
