Are Landing Gear Systems Rated Per Leg or for the Whole System
Question:
If you have 2 landing gear legs that are rated for 3000 lbs per leg . Does this mean it will pick up 6000 lbs. Thanks!

Expert Reply:
On landing gear, each leg will have its own capacity and the system capacity is the combined capacity of both legs. So if each leg is rated for 3,000 pounds lifting capacity then the system should be rated for a total of 6,000 pounds.
