Trailer Hitch Mount Bike Carrier for a 75 Pound Juiced Rider v3 Cargo Bike
Question:
Hi, I drive a Dodge Ram 3/4 Truck with an 8 ft bed. The hitch came with the truck, I think it is a 2 inch. My Juiced Rider bike weighs 75 lb and is very challenging to lift. Can you recommend a hitch? Do you think the Thule EasyFold 9032 might work?

Expert Reply:
The hitch on your 3/4 ton Ram is likely a 2 inch. Just measure the width of the receiver opening. It should be 2 inches.
The Thule EasyFold bike carrier, # TH903202, has as weight capacity of 65 pounds per bike so it would not work but I do have an excellent carrier that will work for you. Take a look at the Hollywood Racks Sport Rider, # HLY84FR. This rack is specifically designed for heavy electric bikes and has a capacity of 80 pounds per bike; just enough for your 75 pound bike. I have included a link to a video review of this carrier for you.
Your Juiced Rider v3 has what is basically a step through frame though so to better secure the bike you may need to use an adapter bar # 64005 to span the distance between the handle bar post and seat post. Then the hook will hold onto the adapter bar.
