Troubleshooting ABS Light On 2015 Toyota 4Runner After Brake Controller Install
Question:
I just had a Prodigy P2 installed on my 2015 4Runner by a large RV center in Rockford IL. Based on the recommendations I saw I selected that unit. I just connected my Fleetwood camper to confirm everything worked ok and noticed that my ABS and variable speed control lights are lit on my dashboard. This doesnt seem to be correct to me. The wiring harness provided with the 4runner was used with the Prodigy. Id appreciate any thoughts on this? Thank you.

I spoke to my tech contact at Prodigy and he said that he has heard of this issue on two other 2015 4Runners and the solution they have for right now until they can get their hands on one is to wire up a pulse preventer like part # 5501 backwards to the stoplight signal to prevent the error code.
I know it's a strange sounding solution but if you cut the red wire of your brake controller wiring and wire the # 5501 so that the brown wire goes to the brake controller side and the yellow wire runs to the vehicle's wiring the problem should go away.
