Can A Weight Distribution System be Used With an Air Spring Suspension Enhancement on Vehicle
Question:
Would you recommend airbags with a weight distribution hitch? I have a 2013 ram 1500 and a 2012 24 foot keystone springdale T.T.. i am currently using a pro series w/d hitch with sway control. I have a set of airlift 1000 airbags I am thinking of installing. I have heard conflicting theorys on this subject. thank you for your advice

We have also heard of people saying that you can't run a WD system and suspension enhancement at the same time. But we recently contacted our WD system manufacturers and our air spring manufacturers and they dispelled that myth. The two can be used together as long as you set up the air pressure in the bags before you set up the weight distribution system.
A properly rated weight distribution system that is also properly setup for the tongue weight of it's trailer should not need suspension enhancement installed on the tow vehicle in most situations.
The two systems are compatible though. Before you install and use the air bag system I would recommend that both things I mentioned above are correct for your setup and then determine if you need further suspension support.
If you do decide to use the air springs in conjunction with the WD system you will have to re-set up the WD system after you have the bags installed and have the amount of air pressure you need in the bags.
