Replacement Air Ride Pin Box for a Lippert 1621HD Pin Box on a 5th Wheel Trailer

Question:

Looking for air ride pin box as a replacement for a 1621hd pin box I now have. As I have been told lippert does not approve a replacement for the 1621hd, only the regular 1621? Can anyone provide any more info?

I spoke with my contacts over at Lippert and they said that you can replace the 1621HD pin box with an air ride pin box. The correct model to use, which is made by Lippert, is # LC158778. It does indicate 1621 and not HD but I asked if that is still correct for the HD model and they did verify that it is a fit for the 1621HD as well.

The Flex Air model, # LC328492, will have the same mounting pattern but if the trailer is rated over 18,000 pounds then it would not work for you.
