The Edge Evolution Programmers do a few different things to improve your truck towing performance. The biggest change is adjusting the shift points. The transmission settings are adjusted so that the proper amount of power is transferred to the rear axle to tow easier. When going uphill with the factory transmission settings, you may feel the truck shift and lose power. With the tow transmission settings, the truck will stay in a gear for a bit longer when going up hill so that it will not shift until the motor is higher in the RPM band and making more power.

The transmission will also shift more firmly, reducing the amount of slip the clutches normally allow which extends the life of the transmission.

The programmer will also adjust the ignition timing and fuel pump and injector settings allowing the motor to produce more power, making towing easier for the truck drive train. If the terrain is fairly easy as far as towing goes, not a lot of hills, you may even see an increase in gas mileage compared to towing without the programmer.

The programmer can then also be used as an in-cab monitor. You can monitor several factors that can be important to monitor when towing including transmission temperature, engine coolant temperature, and transmission speeds to see if the transmission is slipping.

I have added a link to the instructions that will provide more information for you to review.
