Cargo Boxes Will Not Fit Whispbar Fixed Point Roof Rack on 2012 Mazda CX-9

Hi, Ive been having problems finding a cargo box that will mount to my S7 Whispbar Flush mounted to the fixed points on the naked roof of my 2012 Mazda CX-9. The Skybox 21 says it will accommodate the 42inch crossbar spread on my car, but the fit guide says that it is not compatible. Can this work on my roof? Are there other recommended cargo boxes that could fit? Thanks

I spoke with my contact over at Yakima/Whispbar and because the bar spread on the roof rack you are using on your 2012 Mazda CX-9 is 42 inches, none of the boxes will fit. I checked all the boxes we carry and none will fit a bar spread of 42 inches on the Whispbar crossbars.

But what you can do is install the Yakima MegaWarrior basket, # Y07080, and then put a cargo bag such as # RL100S30 in the basket. the bag offers 18 cubic feet of storage so it is a large bag. A benefit of going this route is that it is easier to store a basket and bag then a big cargo box. I have linked video reviews of the basket and bag for you.
