Powered and Non Powered Trailer Light Converter Wiring on 2000 Nissan Frontier - Lights Not Working-

Question:

I have tried a non powered and powered trailer light converter for my truck. The problem is in both systems the signal lights will not work unless the brake pedal is pressed. With the non powered they quit as soon as you let off the brake. With the powered they stay on and work for a while, but when you stop and restart the truck they dont work again and you have to press the pedal again to get them to work. Would isolators help this? Do you have a product that will help this situation? Thank you

On this 2000 Nissan Frontier it sounds like it is a ground issue. On many of the import trucks it is hard to find a good ground on the vehicle. To test this you might try a jumper wire from the license plate ground wire to the ground on the trailer harness. If that works then just use the license plate ground wire connection as a permanent ground.
