Class U Tire Chains for an LT215/85R16 Tire on a 2008 Winnebago View Motorhome
Question:
We have a 2008 Winnebago View motorhome,. looking for chains for the outside rear duals. This part was recommended to us. We have plenty of clearance from the top of the tire to the wheelwell 5+ inches, but the outside/inside tires are VERY close together, especially where the rubber meets the road. less than 1 Our owners manual says we need class U chains, tire size is LT215/85 R 16. Would these chains work? Thank you!

Expert Reply:
The Class U chains required by your 2008 Winnebago, are for regular and all square chains on vehicles with at least 1.97 inches of wheel well clearance. The Pewag All Square Snow Tire Chains with Cam Tighteners, # PWE2219SC, will fit your tire and wheel well. The chain links themselves are only 5.6 millimeters think so there should still be enough clearance between the two tires.
