Actually, on a CIPA Wedge-Shaped, Stick-On HotSpot Mirror # CM49702 it does not matter how you have it oriented. You will apply the mirror in whichever way gives you the best view. It will be different for every vehicle. Before sticking it on you would sit in the vehicle with the door closed and have some one hold the mirror to the factory side mirrors and change positions until you find one that works best for your particular set up.
