Parts Needed to Flat Tow 2015 GMC Canyon 4WD

Greetings: Currently I have the Roadmaster Falcon 5250 tow bar. I have purchased a 2015 GMC Canyon crew cab 4-WD long box. I am in need of a base plate and adapters that will work with my tow bar.. Could you please let me know what i need. Thank you. Curb weight of the Canyon is 4500lbs. Thank you in advance.

The Falcon 5250 tow bar is no longer made and was replaced by the Falcon # RM-522 and Falcon 2, # RM-520.

For base plates that are compatible with the Falcon tow bar you will want the Blue Ox Base Plates, part # BX1721. These base plates are designed to work with your Canyon 4WD. You will, however, need the Roadmaster tow bar to Blue Ox Brackets adapter, # RM-031.

You will need some other items when flat-towing your Canyon.

The lighting I recommend is part # RM-155. This will allow you to bypass the Canyon electrical system completely. For safety chains, use # RM-645.

Most states now require supplemental brakes for a towed vehicle. I recommend the Roadmaster Even Brake Proportional Brake System, part # RM-9400. This system is one of the easiest to install and use and helps reduce wear on the towing vehicle as well as the towed vehicle.

You will want to check out your owner's manual or with your dealership for more information about flat-towing your Canyon.
