Towing a 1997 Jeep Wrangler with Warn Bumper Behind a Motor Home
Question:
I purchased this tow bar from a private party that didnt take anything off the jeep they were towing. My problem is my 1997 Jeep Wrangler already has an aftermarket Warn bumper on it with shackle attach points that are 29 inches apart. What do i need to make this work on my Jeep? Is there an application for a Warn bumper that would work for me?Thanks for your time

If the shackle attachments on the bumper are single protruding points with 7/8 inch diameter holes in them then you could potentially use Avail tow bar # BX7420 if you use adapter # BX88296. But there isn't a way to use the Roadmaster Sterling tow bar.
The Aventa tow bar comes with safety cables. For lighting I spoke to one of our installers recently and he prefers the bulb and socket kit # RM-155.
And finally, most states now require supplemental braking on the vehicle being flat towed. One of the easiest systems to set up and use is the Even Brake proportional system # RM-9400. It will apply the Jeep brakes in proportion to how much the tow vehicle is braking. This is the easiest way to stop and it reduces wear and tear on both vehicles.
Be sure to consult your Jeep owners manual for specific information on flat towing the vehicle. I have also included some helpful links to our series of help articles on flat towing for you.
