The first thing you want to check when considering a hitch mounted bike rack is the clearance you need. I have attached a helpful article that explains how to measure to make sure any carrier clears the back bumper of your 2015 Pilot.
You will need a tape measure and a straight edge like a yardstick or a dowel. Place the straight edge vertically against the back of the bumper, letting it extend below the trailer hitch receiver opening. Then measure from the center of the hitch pin to the straight edge. This will give you the distance you need to clear the bumper.
I recommend the Thule Hitching Post Pro, part # TH934XTR. This is a nice bike carrier that features HoldFast cradles and anti-sway arms that help prevent bike-to-bike contact. This will work with 1-1/4 inch and 2 inch receiver openings. When used in a Class l hitch you would be limited to 2 bikes. The distance from the center of the hitch pin hole to the upright bar of the carrier is 13-1/2 inches. This hitch has a tilting feature that lets you tilt away from the back of the vehicle when unloaded to allow access to the rear cargo area.
The DISCONTINUED Reese Eclipse 4 Bike Rack, Is designed for 2 inch receiver openings and has a 120 lb weight capacity. The distance form the center of the hitch pin hole to the upright bar is 8 inches. This bike rack tilts when empty to allow cargo area access.
If you are planning on carrying bikes with alternative frames like kids bikes or women's bikes I recommend using an adapter bar like part # 64005. This attaches between the seat post and the handlebar stem and allows the bike to be carried more level in the carrier while providing additional ground clearance. I have attached a product review video for this adapter bar.
I have attached links to some videos you can check out.
